I’m looking forward to having boots on the ground in what looks like a great matchup at Ball Arena between the 14-11 Clippers and the 12-10 Nuggets.
Friday the 13th…. Against the James Harden led Clippers. I’d normally be pretty scared about the game, but not tonight.
After getting embarrassed by the leagues worst team in a 122-113 loss to the Washington Wizards, I knew coach Malone would have a few choice words for the team. Great teams bounce back. We didn’t have AG or Murray, but there’s never any excuse to loosing to a two win team when you have the best player on the planet. Jokic came out and did more than you could ask for dropping 56,16,&6 and we walk away with a loss. I know it’s still relatively early in the season, but it FELT like the next game vs a decent, now 13-12 Atlanta squad was one we had to win and win by playing 48 minutes of Nuggets basketball. We did just that killing the Hawks 141-111. I bring these two recent games up because I think that win vs Atlanta will be our turning point in this early season stretch and therefore, the Clippers are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Jokic is playing the best basketball of his career… again.
Jokic is top 5 in PPG, RPG, APG, 3PT%, & 3PTM distance. With AG probable to play, I expect to see a more familiar Nuggets team than we’ve seen majority of the season. Jamal is a game time decision, but regardless I love Westbrook vs his old team and with the chemistry he’s built with Jokic. Norman Powell has been an absolute scoring force this season for the Clippers in his first real shot at a starting role. He torched the Nuggets last time out so I’m hoping we get some sort of perimeter defense on him and let someone other than Powell and Harden try to beat us tonight. Zubac is very tough and talented big man and always plays us well. It will be fun to see the Zubac/Jokic matchup yet again. Batum and Dunn are sneaky contributors with three and D presence. I’m hoping their impact in minimal, but Dunn can dish the rock and knock down corner threes so something to look out for.
Looking into the cheat sheets…

I’m loving these plays for tonights game!
C. Braun over 12.5 points
J. Harden over 7.5/8.5 assits
I. Zubac over 11.5 rebounds
MPJ over 6.5 rebounds
